There are lots of ways to get messages from your customers in TextGoto - in fact, you have one already! When you registered your account you were assigned a FREE keyword, which allows you to receive messages on our shared number of 07860018927. Say for example you were assigned the keyword of "SMS101" - that means that any messages beginning with that keyword that are sent to 07860018927 will be waiting for you in your inbox on the portal. But your free keyword isn't the only way you can receive messages. Let's look at some other options...

Incoming Route Options and Prices
Shortcode Trigger

We can arrange for you to have a trigger on a free shortcode (i.e. people messaging the number do not face charges beyond standard messaging rates). Great for subscription gathering! So if you run a takeaway, for example, your customers might send the word "PIZZA" to 60075 to contact you.

Shortcode Triggers cost just £35 a month, with a £50 setup fee
Shared Keyword On Our Default Route

You can request a different keyword on our shared number, so for example if you run a coffee shop you could request the keyword "COFFEE". In this case, you would then receive any messages beginning with the keyword "COFFEE" sent to 07860018927.

Shared keyword shortcodes cost just £10 a month, with no setup fee
Virtual Mobile Number

We can set up a Virtual Mobile Number (VMN) for you, which looks just like an ordinary mobile number. The advantage to a VMN is that you get all messages that are sent to that number, regardless of the keyword of the message. This means you can set up different options for every possible keyword you can think of for that one number, creating limitless mobile campaign options.

VMNs cost just £30 a month, with an initial £50 setup fee.
Hosted SIM Card

We will host a SIM card incoming route for you, routing all received messages into your inbox. Like a VMN, above, this provides you with a regular mobile number, and you get all messages that are sent to that number, regardless of the keyword of the message. This means you can set up different options for every possible keyword you can think of for that one number, creating limitless mobile campaign options.

While the hosted SIM route is cheaper than a VMN, it can be subject to unexpected outages due to network coverage issues or unexpected connectivity problems.

Hosted SIMs cost just £15 a month, with an initial £20 setup fee.
Use Your Own Phone!

If you set your Sender ID to the number of your own phone, any replies sent to those messages will come straight to your own handset for you deal with as you wish! However, these messages are no longer under the control of TextGoto, and you must manually provide any opt-out/stop requests to the TextGoto system in order to maintain compliance.

Using Your Own Phone is FREE!.
Additional Features

Whatever method you choose to receive messages, TextGoto provides lots of ways you can use those incoming messages, including:

  • Automatic reply
  • Forward messages to email
  • Forward messages to mobile phone
  • Add incoming numbers to opt-out suppression list
  • Add incoming numbers to send list
  • Forward messages to an API on your own systems
  • Forward messages to a channel on your Slack workspace

You can set these options separately for each inbox in your account, and if you have your own VMN you can create inboxes with independent options for keywords you define.
